eDrilling awarded contract for well construction planning technologies by Total S.A.

We are proud to announce some great news in these very difficult times for our industry – we have been awarded a contract by Total S.A. for our well construction planning technologies, as part of Total Drilling Engineering Software Kit (also known as T-Desk) & Drilling & Wells digital platform re-development. T-Desk is the corner stone software for well design engineering within Total.

Its functionalities allow engineers to perform all front-end engineering and design for Wells as well as operations follow up through torque and drag and calculations benchmark against field data. T-Desk has a leading-edge web-based architecture relying on microservices.

Total is a major energy player, which produces and markets fuels, natural gas and low-carbon electricity. Their 100,000 employees are committed to better energy that is safer, more affordable, cleaner and accessible to as many people as possible. Active in more than 130 countries, their ambition is to become the responsible energy major.

CNPC Tarim chooses eDrilling software to optimize well construction

We are proud to announce that CNPC Tarim chooses eDrilling software to optimize well construction. China National Petroleum Corporation’s (CNPC) Tarim Oilfield, which lies to the south of the Tian Shan mountain, in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur region, is China’s largest oil and gas bearing basin. It is one of the starting points of China’s west-east natural gas transmission projects.

CNPC is one of the largest integrated energy groups in the world, headquartered in China. CNPC is engaged in hydrocarbon exploration and production operations, onshore and offshore, in 34 countries in APAC, Africa, South America, the Middle East and Central Asia-Russia.

CNPC Tarim will use eDrilling’s well planning software suite for the specific purpose of more realistic dynamic modelling of the downhole environment for their well designs, accounting for transient effects in the wellbore. The software will be used to support simulations on dynamic multiphase hydraulics and temperature including managed pressure (MPD) and dual-gradient drilling (DGD), advanced well control and torque & drag. This will be instrumental in keeping CNPC Tarim ahead of the curve for well construction optimization.
